Volunteering at New Hope Pantry
Volunteers are crucial to the success of our food distribution efforts. We appreciate your willingness to help! Here are some important details regarding volunteering:
- Volunteer Opportunities happen throughout the week.; Food pick ups and deliveries, cooking, repackaging, sorting, cleaning, wagon repairs…
- No Experience Required: We welcome everyone, regardless of prior experience or age. We simply ask that volunteers have a great attitude and can work together with the team, willing to do whatever is needed at the moment. There is a sign up list for volunteers on Sign up Genius at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4BAAAC2AA3F4C61-51057144-hands?useFullSite=true#/
- Attire and Supplies: Please dress comfortably for the weather, and wear closed-toe shoes for safety purposes. We recommend bringing a pair of work gloves to protect your hands during any lifting or handling of boxes.
Your support as a volunteer enables us to make a significant impact in the lives of those in need. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to serve!
Volunteering to Help with Food Pick ups:
We are in need of volunteers to drive the refrigerated truck, and to help load and unload the truck to ensure a steady supply of provisions. If you are interested in this particular role, please note the following requirements:
- Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record: For individuals interested in driving the truck, a standard driver’s license and a clean driving record from the past 5 years are required. This ensures the safety of all involved.
- Ability to Lift Heavy Boxes: Volunteers who choose to ride in the truck should have the physical ability to pick up and move heavy boxes. The nature of the role may involve loading and unloading the truck during food pickups.
- Truck Schedule: The food pickup run Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays during the day. Your availability to participate during these times will be greatly appreciated.
If you meet the above criteria and would like to volunteer as a driver or loader, please contact our volunteer coordinator at (804) 932-3967. Your assistance in raising and collecting food donations is invaluable, and it directly contributes to our ability to serve the community. Thank you for considering this vital role in our food drive efforts!
